Ringo, better known as The Duke, was the First leader of the Wall.

History[]

His main opposition was The Rebellion, particularly Tim and Cherie. Eventually, the Wall inhabitants managed to fight against his regime, leading The Duke to escape through a hole in the Wall in the chaos. Sometime later, The Duke, having gotten used to living in the outside, encounters Cherie, leading to a fight between them. When they get trapped in a toy ship by a massive possum named Jeff the Possum, they eventually come to compromise, and as a result, become reluctant friends. Over time, The Duke surmises Cherie is pregnant, which is confirmed with a urine test (also reveals he collects their urine). As Cherie's womb grows, The Duke decides their environment isn't fit for her baby to grow in and helps her escape from their space. As Cherie runs, The Duke distract Jeff and kills it with a firecracker, mortally wounding The Duke in the process. As The Duke lays dying, he tells Cherie he hopes his actions are enough to redeem him for all the bad he did as the leader of the Wall, and before dying, professes his (paternal) love for Cherie, requests she not touch his genitals when he's dead, and reveals his real name to her after.

In Terry's Big Cleaning Day, Terry accidentally revives the Duke after using the make-alive ray on the backyard. Duke is revived but has none of his memories.

Trivia[]

  • The Duke is strongly implied to be asexual as he claims that he does not let anybody touch his penis and seems to be proud of this. He even told Cherie to not touch his penis when he dies. In the episode "The Quantum Ring", while holding the Playboy he seems more interested in the interview with Mark Cuban.
  • His alias of "The Duke" is based on the title of Isaac Hayes' character from "Escape from New York", as they both acted as overlords within an enclosed society, which their similarities were recognized by Cherie.
