"The Platinum Beyblade Burst 800 Takara Tomy Edition" is the seventh episode and Season 3 premiere of Solar Opposites, and the twenty-fourth episode overall.
Plot[]
Jackpot! Yumyulack learns about high school betting.
Full Story[]
At lunchtime, Yumyulack wins "Best Couple" at school with his new girlfriend Annie. However, he discovers that the two were only together for a bet that Annie could win "Best Couple" with anyone in school. Rather than feeling hurt, Yumyulack gets excited at the revelation that he can bet on "high school stuff." At home, Terry and Korvo receive the Crystal Skull Vodka Brand Bullet signed by Mark Hamill they won in an auction on eBay. The two admire their new collectible, and set up a photo shoot of Terry holding a gun loaded with the bullet, channeling Charlie's Angels. When they pose, Terry accidentally shoots the bullet straight up into space. However, Terry is still able to see the bullet as it fires upward, and tries to keep his eye on it for when it comes down. Korvo keeps Terry from being distracted, starting by knocking over a kid in a wheelchair.
In The Wall, the Bowinian nuns show Halk and Cherie a suit of armor for Cherie to wear when she becomes the new ruler. They intend for her to look huge, and go by The Duchess. Halk objects to this idea, insisting that they lead with honesty instead of fear. Cherie is given the choice of what to do, but everyone agrees that Pezlie will need to remain hidden.
At school, Jesse talks to Yumyulack about the bet with Annie, and is surprised that Yumyulack took it well. She invites him to come to the Mock Model UN that night, and to ride around in a life size, fully functional Lakitu Cloud from Club Nintendo. He refuses, going up to the Hamburger Twins, Mark and Clark, to get in on the high school betting. Yumyulack bets $50 that the Princess, the Brain, the Bad Boy, the Athlete, and the Freak will never become friends. However, the five leave school that day having formed a bond. Yumyulack is unable to pay the twins, and they "burger" him by squishing him between themselves. To escape, Yumyulack offers to go triple-or-nothing on another bet. At home, Terry continues to focus on the bullet, which leads him to accidentally wander into their neighbor Glen's car across the street. Glen gets mad at the aliens for touching his car. He doesn't want to hear their excuse, and insists that no one touches his car. Yumyulack returns home panicked that the Hamburger Twins will kill him. Jesse suggests that Mark is upset after recently being dumped, which makes Yumyulack realize that Jesse takes an interest in the way high school works. Wanting to exploit this, Yumyulack accepts Jesse's offer to go to the Mock Model UN that night, exciting Jesse, not realizing his ulterior motives. Over the next few days, Yumyulack makes bets a number of ridiculous scenarios, such as cheerleaders fingering, or who Jimmy Nickels will have sex with. The amount of money he wins from these bets allows him to afford the Platinum Beyblade Burst 800 Takara Tomy Edition, a rare Beyblade that Jesse and The Pupa become enamored with.
In The Wall, the nuns and Halk go to market, discussing Cherie's still unknown choice of how to handle the news of Tim's death. The people start to scream as they discover Tim's charred corpse hanging from a giant statue of Cherie. Cherie announces Tim's death, while revealing that she's still alive, and that there is a hole in the back of The Wall. The nuns are upset with Cherie's methods, as she continues to reveal that Tim tried to kill her, and was already dying by the time she returned. Shocked, the people follow Cherie to see the hole.
Yumyulack presents his new Beyblade at the school talent show, impressing Principal Cooke despite not being an actual talent. Backstage, he reveals to two stage hands that he used Jesse's obsession with high school drama to help him win his bets. Jesse, eavesdropping from above on her Lakitu Cloud, gets upset at Yumyulack for using her, and leaves as he tries in vain to apologize. She cries to Aisha on the ship, to which Aisha offers Jesse a "sexcapade" to help her feel better. She brings in South Korean boyband BTK (as she couldn't afford BTS) for 7 Minutes In Heaven, which Jesse gladly accepts. Terry continues to keep an eye on the Crystal Bullet, as Glen yells at the aliens to get off his property. First he feebly slaps the two, then shoots six bullets of his own into the air, though Terry claims he can still tell the difference due to Glen's bullets being so cheap. Yumyulack continues to flex his wealth at school, and is kidnapped by Scholastic Headquarters, and their boss, Ms. Draggle (who resembles to Ms. Frizzle of The Magic School Bus). She threatens Yumyulack for making kids spend money on his bets rather than in school book fairs, affecting their bottom line. To send a message, she has a kid named Andy, who started a fundraiser for the homeless, crushed to death under hundreds of copies of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. She then gives Yumyulack a week to pay back the money they lost, or suffer a similar fate.
Cherie reveals the hole that Ringo and Tim hid to a large crowd. She offers the people the option to freedom, but admits that it's dangerous. One of the nuns uses the opportunity to promote the idea of Cherie becoming their new leader, which Cherie flatly refuses. One Wallian jumps out of the wall in a panic, craving Chipotle, and is caught by an owl before he hits the ground. Cherie uses this to illustrate her point about the danger. She suggests that The Wall be run by an elected government, with representation from all levels. The people become excited for a new transparency in their way of life.
Yumyulack frantically calls for Jesse at home, who has just finished two rounds of 7 Minutes In Heaven with BTK. She declares that this has allowed her to stop caring about high school gossip, upsetting Yumyulack. He apologizes, and admits his betting stint was fueled by his embarrassment with the Annie situation. He begs Jesse to help him win a big bet to pay back Scholastic, which she accepts after expressing remorse for blowing his chance at sharing the Lakitu Cloud with his sister. The two watch 80's teen movies together in order to formulate an elaborate bet. He bets 50:1 that at the school basketball game that night, four abnormal things will happen. Many kids take this bet, including the Pupa, despite Yumyulack telling him it's a scam. Terry finally notices their bullet coming down, and Korvo gives him a bucket provided with a bulletproof vest to catch it. However, Glen intentionally backs into Terry with his car to make him lose sight of the bullet. The bullet goes through Glen's foot, causing him to bleed profusely and scream in pain, hoping to get the aliens in trouble.
Halk confronts Cherie about her actions. Cherie believes she can't keep Pezlie a secret while also being the leader. She is also confident that people will try to escape, but believes some of them can still survive despite the dangers. She declares that those who stay will build a better wall, leading into the Wall's first election. Despite not wanting power, Cherie is elected as level 12's representative after being written in. During the new council's first meeting, an insect bites at the wires of the lower levels, causing the power to go out throughout the entire wall.
At the school basketball game, Yumyulack's bet starts going well. Jesse uses a ray to turn one of their players into a Teen Wolf, a kid reveals that he is undercover and working on an exposé on TILFs, and the opposing cheerleaders get into a fight. However, the last part of the bet, winning the game, is ruined when the opposing team gets a Teen Wolf as well. Having lost the bet, Ms. Draggle and her henchmen chase Yumyulack down. It's revealed that The Pupa used a Teen Wolf ray on the other team, and that he made a side bet with the Hamburger Twins that this would happen. The twins get into a fight as The Pupa takes all their money. Draggle catches up with Yumyulack, and stabs him in the chest with her Magic Knife Bus. He begs the Pupa for the money he won from his bet, but will only give it up in exchange for Yumyulack's Beyblade. Jesse yells at him for initially being reluctant, but hands it over after Draggle twists the knife. Scholastic take the bags of money as The Pupa excitedly plays with his new Beyblade.
Terry finds out online that the statute of limitations for unintentionally shooting someone is 7 years. He and Korvo resolve to shoot Glen into space in a pod until the statute runs out. Glen begs not to be shot into space, even admitting to his own failings, but the aliens do not listen. As Glen is shot upwards, he collides with an unregistered satellite from Yumyulack, causing him to go off course and drift into a hole. Celebrating getting their bullet back, Terry and Korvo start an OnlyFans by sharing pictures of Terry's newly trimmed feet. Yumyulack thanks Jesse for her help appeasing Scholastic, with Jesse realizing that without the opposing Teen Wolf, The Pupa wouldn't have gotten Yumyulack's Beyblade. Yumyulack wonders if everyone forced into movie situations will be okay. We then cut to a "Where are they now" segment on Jimmy Nickels, Ms. Draggle, Annie, and the Hamburger Twins. However, the person writing the captions becomes confused when it's revealed that the twins are actually father and son, despite being the same age. They have a breakdown, apologizing for calling Annie a whore earlier, and sucking up to avoid getting fired. In space, Glen's pod is picked up by The SilverCops, and he is arrested for flying an unregistered cryopod.
