Full Story
Immediately following the events of Terry and Korvo Steal A Bear, Cherie wakes up in the Solar Opposites' backyard, having survived Tim's attempt to murder her thanks to a Gusher hidden in her clothes. She tends to her broken leg sustained from her fall, and finds shelter in a tree, though is forced to climb when the rain threatens to drown her in her sleep. The next day, she encounters The Duke, fighting him until a possum interrupts. The Duke stabs the possum in the eye, provoking its mother to chase the two into an Alien vs. Predator play ship.
While trapped, the two resolve to work together to stave off the possum, still insisting they're enemies. Overnight, they take turns watching out for the mother possum, until The Duke prepares a breakfast of mushrooms in the morning. The Duke decides to call the possum Jeff after an old roommate, and warns Cherie that it could take months for the possum to leave them alone. Cherie decides to take her chances, but returns to the safety of the ship. As they eat, Cherie reveals that Tim tried to murder her after she found the hole in the wall. She also talks about her past job at Benihana, delighting the Duke as Benihana is his favorite restaurant. Though the two still argue over their differences, they spend the next few weeks reinforcing the ship and fighting for survival.
After a dinner of an onion volcano made of mushrooms, The Duke tells Cherie that he thinks she's pregnant. He uses a Cadbury Creme Egg as a makeshift pregnancy test, using a sample of Cherie's saved urine to show a positive result. This revelation upsets Cherie, as she knows Tim is the father. As she progresses in her pregnancy, Cherie starts to have nightmares about giving birth to a piece of candy. The Duke insists that the baby can't be raised in the ship, which has steadily become damaged by Jeff's attacks. He suggests the two of them journey to a Walgreens, whose sign is visible from the ship. The Duke plots to distract Jeff while Cherie runs to Walgreens. The Duke gets mauled by Jeff, but uses a stick of dynamite to blow her head off. The blast of which splatters the kitchen window, startling Terry into breaking his favorite Babu Frik collectible shot glass. Cherie consoles a dying Duke, face half blown off. In his final moments, he admits his failings as leader of the wall, and reveals his real name: Ringo.
Cherie mourns the loss of Ringo, leaving a flower for him and covering his body with a leaf. For weeks, she journeys through the yard to reach Walgreens. In the winter, Cherie goes into labor as Jesse frollicks outside, unknowingly threatening to crush her. Cherie hides in a pez dispenser, which Jesse happens to pick up and start eating from. As Jesse eats, Cherie gives birth to her baby. Jesse puts the dispenser down right before she has the chance to eat Cherie, suddenly realizing that "Pez tastes like chalk." With her newborn baby, Cherie makes it to the edge of the yard, only to find out the Walgreens sign was actually a billboard. With nowhere else to go, Cherie journeys back to The Wall. While climbing up to the hole, Cherie and her baby are attacked by a crow, though are saved when The Pupa intervenes and rips the crow open.
When she returns to The Wall, Cherie finds that everyone is celebrating a new holiday called Cherie Day in honor of her supposed victory over The Duke. She dons a mask of herself to hide from the crowd, and witnesses Halk's fake announcement that they captured a murderous cricket, previously seen in "The Apple Pencil Pro". After the festivities, Cherie meets with Halk in private, revealing she's alive and confronting Halk about the lie he was forced to say to protect Tim. Cherie angrily declares that Tim can't have control of the wall anymore, and reveals her baby daughter Pezlie. The two walk together as they plot to bring Tim down once and for all.
